  • Cockroaches will also eat almost anything edible. That means they’ll go for anything that’s not toxic to them, but it doesn’t mean they’ll avoid toxic food either. If you have pesticides in your home, cockroaches might try to snack on your poison once in a while.

German cockroaches are picky eaters, preferring to feed on sugary food. They will eat almost anything, but prefer a high-sugar diet. If you have a sweet tooth like I do, this might be a good thing to know if you have an infestation of German cockroaches: they’re probably not going to go for your organic kale salad with apples and blueberries any time soon!

Cockroaches can live up to 2 months without food. That’s why it’s important that we don’t leave out any food crumbs in our homes so that they won’t seek out other sources of nutrition when there isn’t anything left in your pantry (or cupboards).

Cockroaches are attracted by light at night and will also be drawn towards any kind of food source (like sugar) if they’re hungry enough—so make sure not only that your house is clean but also that there aren’t any bright lights shining inside during the evening hours when you’ll likely be asleep!

Cockroaches can be very difficult to get rid of, especially if there are a lot of them. One way to do this is by using traps that contain an attractant that they’ll eat and then die from (often times cockroaches will eat each other when food is scarce). This can be an effective way to control small infestations, but if you have a large problem it may not be enough.

Palmetto bugs are a type of cockroach, but they’re not as common as other types. They’re more likely to be found in southern states, such as Florida and Texas, rather than in the midwest and northeast states.

They’re also less likely to infest homes; instead, you’ll find them outdoors under logs or leaf litter or inside moist areas like mulch piles or under siding where they can access moisture. They cannot fly (though some species can jump), so they don’t travel very far on their own accord.

They’re also not very big, with the largest species being only about one inch in length. They can be tan or dark brown in color and are often confused with palmetto bugs because of their similar appearance, but they don’t have wings like other cockroaches do.
